Coleg Gwent students collect 30 medals at swimming gala

A team of Coleg Gwent students made waves at a recent swimming gala, coming away with an impressive 30 medals between them.

Independent Living Skills (ILS) students took part in the Wales Sports Association for People with Learning Difficulties (WSAPLD) Regional Swimming Gala in Cardiff. The group of 17 students scooped a haul of medals from 36 races entered, including 15 gold, six silver and nine bronze.

Lecturer Rebecca Williams said: “The students were delighted with their achievements.

“The group put in a huge amount of effort and we’re proud that they did so well.”
