Update: Blackwood child sex offender arrested and returned to prison.

Gwent Police is appealing for the whereabouts of a child sex offender who has been recalled to prison.

Ross Kalies, 56, was released from prison on February 17, 2012, but is now wanted for breaching his licence conditions.

Kalies was serving a three-and-a-half year prison sentence for sexual offences against children after being convicted at Cardiff Crown Court in 2009.

Police believe Kalies could be in the Cardiff, Brecon, Tenby or Caerphilly County areas where he is known to have previously spent time, and may be sleeping rough.

He is described as white, approximately 5ft 7in tall and of slight build. He has a scruffy appearance, dark brown/greying wavy shoulder length hair, a ginger/greying beard, long sideburns, blue eyes and yellow teeth. He speaks with a Welsh accent.

Anyone with information should contact Gwent Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
