A child sex offender from Blackwood released from prison on licence has been arrested by police in Cardiff.

On Friday August 3, Gwent Police issued an appeal for the whereabouts of Ross Kalies, 56, who was released from prison on February 17, 2012.

Kalies was serving a three-and-a-half year prison sentence for sexual offences against children after being convicted at Cardiff Crown Court in 2009. He was arrested for an unspecified breach of his licence conditions.

Police believed Kalies was in the Cardiff, Brecon, Tenby or Caerphilly County areas.

Once a paedophile always a paedophile. Short sentences and early release just makes the judicial system a joke.
They reoffend every time. And everytime, another childs life is ruined.
Jaif for life or death penalty. That’s the only permanent solution..
