Sister’s appeal for long-lost brother from Oakdale to come forward

A man last known to be living in the Oakdale area is being sought by the long-lost sister he may not know about.

Susan Mountford-Reis, 63, was originally born in Cardiff before being adopted by a family in England. While tracing her family roots Mrs Mountford-Reis, who was born Denise Jones, discovered she had a younger brother who she knew nothing about.

She said: “I started trying to track my birth family and then I discovered I had a brother. We’ve been trying to track him down but we’re not getting anywhere.

“We know he was in the Blackwood and Oakdale areas and we think he’s possibly still there. He knows nothing about me as I knew nothing about him.

“We found out that 20 years ago he discovered that our mother had died but he didn’t contact the family again – it’s all a bit of a mystery.”

Mrs Mountford-Reis’ birth mother gave her up for adoption after 13 days because she was unmarried. Three years later she did a similar thing with her baby son.

Her birth mother was one of five sisters and the family is now living in the Llanelli area.

The name Mrs Mountford-Reis has for her brother is Clive Alwyne Jones – who would be aged 60.

Mrs Mountford-Reis, who now lives in Portugal, can be contacted via email at ctr@mail.telepac.pt
