Caerphilly youngsters to have their say on crime at meeting

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:00, Tuesday May 24th, 2011.

Youngsters are to have their say on crime at a special police meeting on Tuesday.

The youth Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meeting will take place on Tuesday May 24 at Caerphilly town’s Visitor Centre, the Twyn, at 7pm.

Police Community Support Officer John McDonnell said: “We are always asking the adults of Caerphilly what changes they would like to see, now we want to give the youngsters an opportunity to voice their issues and ideas for the future of Caerphilly.

“There’s lots of benefits to attending the meeting – every youth attending will receive a free gym induction for Caerphilly Leisure Centre and there will also be several prizes awarded, including three one month memberships to either Caerphilly Leisure Centre’s gym, swimming pool or dance classes and a mystery star prize for one lucky person.”

If you are unable to make the above PACT meetings you can always contact your neighbourhood policing teams on 02920 857 453 or e-mail caerphilly@gwent.pnn.police.uk

May I thank PCSO John McDonnell and PC Iwan Adams for arranging a well attended first Youth Pact meeting. It's always refreshing to hear differnt opinions from the young people of Caerffili. The St Martins Youth Club already a massive success with Julie Prosser, Cllr. Colin Elsbury, Cllr. Steve Kent and myself and the St Martins church, may pave the way for additional facilities in Castle View as well as within the town centre. Keep up the great work.
