Success for Crumlin’s Valleys Gymnastics Academy

Youngsters from Crumlin’s Valleys Gymnastics Academy have recently been enjoying success.

Gymnasts represented the academy in the South Central Area Grades Championships In Pen-y-bont.

Kenzie Reynolds, Eve Gregory, Georgia Curtis, Poppy Ella Davies, Rebecca Thomas, Carys Phillips, Mollie Lloyd, Naomi Burgess and Carys Carpenter all had excellent passes at Grade 14.

Grade 13 showed more talent from our girls, with Seren Hughes in fifth overall, Seren Burgwin 2nd Overall and Leah-Marie Amphlett took first place.

In grade 13 out of age the girls took over the podiums, Overall fourth was Jazmine Martin, third was Seren Thomas , Ffion Fortt 2nd while Maddison Hamer was crowned Champion.
The day was a great success for all the gymnasts with lots of distinctions and great performances all round. In addition, Leah Marie Amphlett, Seren Burgwin and Carys Carpenter will all now represent the South Central Area at the Welsh Finals.

On the weekend of February 23 and 24 gymnasts also represented Valleys Gymnastics Academy at the Welsh Championships in Cardiff.

Competing in the National Grades Event, Ellys Connor achieved a pass at Grade 6, Katelyn King achieved a pass at Grade 8 and at Grade 7 Niya Hewitt achieved a pass ,Beth Wheeler, Macey Chapman and Naomi Jarman achieved Distinctions.

Niya was second on Vault, Macey took first place on vault and Floor and third place on range and Conditioning and placed fifth overall, Naomi Jarman had second place on Bars, Beam and first place on range and Conditioning placing her third overall. Naomi has now been selected to represent Wales in the British finals in Birmingham.

In the Compulsory Level 4 event, Ellie Davies competed in her first Welsh Competition and performed well and placed fifth overall, she will also compete at the British Finals in Birmingham and represent Valleys Gymnastics Academy.
