Police are appealing for information after a fight broke out on a train at Aber station near Caerphilly.
During the fracas, which took place on January 25, the train’s emergency brakes were activated with two groups throwing cans, bottles and punches at each other.
British Transport Police have released these CCTV images of people they would like to speak with in connection to the incident.
Investigating officer PC Lisa James said: “A large group of around 30 youths boarded the 9.33pm Rhymney to Penarth service at Ystrad Mynach. A short while later they became involved in an altercation with a smaller group of young men – who had boarded the service at Pengam – which escalated into a fight.
“When the train arrived at Aber at 10.08pm, the two groups were throwing cans and bottles at each other and a number of punches were exchanged.
“The disorder – during which the train’s emergency brakes activated – continued until Caerphilly, where one of the groups left the service.”
PC James added: “Thankfully no-one outside of the group became involved in the violence, but it was a frightening experience for rail staff who called police for assistance.
“Officers have been working hard in investigating this crime, and have followed a number of lines of enquiry. We have now identified four men we would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
“I am very keen to trace these men as we believe they may all have information which could assist the investigation.”

Why were the police not awaiting the arrival of the train in Caerphilly?
This suggestion by Helen is the stuff of deep interlect (sic) and as such is beyond the pay grade of some, no doubt, PC lisa James would have thought of that one, but would her bosses who`s role deployment of additional colleagues to assist Lisa it would be.
