The female Goshawk at Cwmcarn Forest has laid her first eggs of the season.

The breeding pair is one of only 400 nesting pairs in the UK and thanks to state of the art technology everyone can become embroiled in their dramatic lives.

New and improved cameras have been placed at the hidden location in Cwmcarn Forest Drive to enable eager ornithologists to keep their eagle eye on the activities of these rare birds as they hatch and care for this year’s offspring.

Due to the late spring this year it is unknown how many further eggs will be laid but with the camera feed beaming strongly via the World Wide Web enthusiasts can easily stay on egg watch as the season continues.

Last year avid viewers saw the highs and lows of the Goshawk family as two chicks successfully flew the nest after battling with sibling rivalry and blustering winds.

To watch the nesting birds visit www.cwmcarnforest.co.uk or visit Cwmcarn Forest Drive where a live feed is streamed to the Visitor Centre
