Gwent Police has released this CCTV picture in an appeal for information after fuel thieves drove off from Morrisons supermarket in Caerphilly town.

The theft happened at 2pm on Sunday April 21.

Two men in a burgundy Vauxhall Zafira displaying false plates FY62 NDC filled the car with £51.78 of fuel and left without paying.

The latest incident is the latest in a spate of petrol thefts in Caerphilly town.

Between January and March this year there have been 11 incidents where thieves have filled up and driven off without payment.

In March, Gwent Police said it launched a special operation in the town to tackle the problem.

Marked police cars fitted with recording equipment have been parked in forecourts to deter would-be thieves and the force said it was using Automatic Number Plate Recognition to spot fake plates on cars.
