Almost 900 runners have signed up for the inaugural Caerphilly 10km race.
Organisers Caerphilly County Borough Council say numbers for the June 23 event are rising daily with 280 runners coming from the county borough.
Runners from Bristol, Bath, Weston Super Mare, Maidenhead, Sussex and the Midlands have signed up.
Cllr Harry Andrews, leader of the council, said: “I am delighted that the inaugural Caerphilly 10km event has attracted so many participants – from so far and wide.
“It is events such as this which allow us to showcase all that our county borough has to offer, and through bringing many visitors into the county borough, help give the local economy a major boost.”
Entrants to the race are being encouraged to bring along the whole family to support them from the grassed area near the start/finishing line on Crescent Road.
