St Martin’s School helps Caerphilly get in Bloom

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 12:12, Wednesday June 19th, 2013.

Pupils from St Martin’s School have been busy planting flowers in Caerphilly town centre.

Caerphilly County Borough Council Parks Services have been working closely with the group of pupils.

Meeting in town or at Dafydd Williams Park on Friday mornings, the pupils have so far replanted the flower tubs along Cardiff Road and worked on the shrub beds at Dafydd Williams Park.

The group are also helping to look after the floral displays in Caerphilly Castle and Castle Street. The planters the group work on are identified by the school and the Caerphilly Town Centre Management Group logos.

Caerphilly Town Centre Management Group kindly funded £500.00 to provide materials for the planters and to support this year’s entry into Wales in Bloom.

  • Caerphilly Flower Festival is taking place on July 5 to July 7. Click here for more details.
