A fire helicopter has been called back out to the scene of a mountain fire in Wattsville after reports the fire had reignited in several areas.
Fire crews from Risca and Abercarn were called out yesterday to the Wattsville side of the mountain, near Islwyn Road, at 2.22pm.
A fire helicopter was scrambled yesterday afternoon to drop water on the area and it had looked as if efforts to put the fire out had been successful.
By this morning, a single crew was on hand dampening down hotspots in area but according to South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, a police helicopter flying over at around 12.30pm today spotted seven different seats of fire.
The fire helicopter was deployed at 12.55pm today.
