New kitchen for Newbridge church

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 13:00, Tuesday July 30th, 2013.

Around 50 guests shared a special meal in Newbridge to mark the refurbishment and opening of Tabernacle Baptist Church’s kitchen prior to the launch of a new Community Luncheon Club for over 50s come September.

Caerphilly Mayor Councillor Michael Gray officially opened the High Street facilities completed by local contractor Parfitt Construction with grants from the Newbridge Partnership, county council, Welsh Church Acts Fund and the Gwent Baptist Association.

The church also benefitted from significant help and advice from the Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations.
More than 100 children and young people are expected to attend the churches’ annual summer Bible school.

The four days of activities are being led by a gospel mission team from the United States.

Tabernacle and neighbouring Beulah chapels minister Rev Peter Cho, said the churches were working together to help meet local needs and thanked supporters.
