School pupils have been taught the cost of criminal damage to cars as part of a new initiative by Gwent Police.
The ‘Price tag’ road show saw officers visit schools during lunchtimes with a Ford Focus car supplied by South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
The car was equipped with a high-end music system, widescreen 40in LCD TV, LED lighting and an XBox. It has been designed to appeal to youngsters aged between 15 and 25.
As part of the police exercise, the cost of damaging different parts of the car was illustrated using oversized price tags.
The campaign also asked youngsters to think about how long they would have to work to pay off a £5,000 fine.
