Bedwas Library closed

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:02, Friday August 9th, 2013.

Bedwas Library is closed for a £50,000 refurbishment.

The largest part of the works will be to introduce an accessible public toilet.

The library will also get new shelving, soft furnishings, a new carpet and internal redecoration.

Cllr Rhianon Passmore, Cabinet member for Education, said: “The refurbishments at Bedwas Library will enable and encourage residents to use their library for learning, entertainment and information – a real community resource.”

Bedwas Library will be closed for seven weeks whilst the works are completed.

It is due to reopen on Monday September 23.

Library users will be able to borrow items for a longer period than normal during the closure.
