Jobs fair to be held at Caerphilly Leisure Centre

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 09:38, Monday September 2nd, 2013.

Over the next few weeks, people in Caerphilly can take advantage of eight Jobcentre Plus employment events taking place across South Wales, with more than 2,500 job vacancies up for grabs.

Each event – organised in partnership with local councils – will give jobseekers the chance to speak directly to local employers about full and part-time vacancies, including roles in hospitality, administration, retail and care.

The job fairs kick-off in Newport on September 4, and come to Caerphilly on September 25 with an event at the Leisure Centre offering more than 100 job opportunities to visitors on the day. Employers attending the event include: Argos, Asda, and Creditsafe, to name but a few.

Bernadette Jones, District Manager for Jobcentre Plus, said: “Our job fairs are always very popular, and one of the main draws is that people get the chance to speak directly to a number of employers all under the one roof. The opportunity to speak face-to-face with someone can be a real advantage.

“But in addition to the jobs that are on offer, our employment advisers and training partners will also be on hand to help people improve their CVs and interview technique, and give information on retraining.

“I think people may be pleasantly surprised by the kind of opportunities that are out there for them.”
