Support on offer for Caerphilly businesses

Business, News | Richard Gurner | Published: 13:24, Monday September 2nd, 2013.

Existing and new business owners in Caerphilly County Borough’s town centres are being offered advice and support to help them flourish.

Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Town Centre Management and Business Enterprise Support teams are offering a range of services, from business development to technological support, to assist the business community. A variety of funding grants are also available to assist those who are already trading, considering setting up a new business or relocating to Caerphilly county borough.

The council’s Town Centre Management Team offers a range of investment data that can assist a business in applying to a bank or assessing a town’s viability. The team also holds a Retail Property Directory – an index of every property for sale or let in the country borough’s five town centres – to help new traders find the right premises for their business.

The Business Enterprise Support team, based at Tredomen Business and Technology Centre, offer a range of grants and services to support businesses, as well as the GO2 scheme that helps businesses online.

Guidance is also available to help businesses reduce their environmental impact and improve their energy efficiency.

Cllr Ken James, Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: “It is well known that home-grown businesses make a significant contribution to regeneration, and I’m delighted that so much help and support is being given to businesses here in the county borough. The wide range of services available will arm our intrepid businessmen and women with the knowledge they need to make their ventures a success in this difficult financial climate.”

Support and advice is open to businesses of any size or sector.
