Residents in Caerphilly County Borough are being urged to watch out for their household electoral registration form being delivered throughout the area from October 7.
The form needs to be filled in otherwise residents may not be able to vote in next year’s European elections.
This is the last year that any member of the household is able to register everyone living at the property and in future each individual will be responsible for applying to the register.
Electoral services staff are canvassing parts of the county borough and will be on hand to help with the forms if needed. They will also be visiting homes that we don’t receive a response from.
Stuart Rosser, Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Interim Chief Executive and Electoral Registration Officer, said: “It’s vitally important that you let us know who’s living at your property including any 16/17 year olds who will soon be eligible to vote.
“We are working hard to make sure that our register is as up to date as possible ahead of individual electoral registration so that no one loses the right to vote.”
