An information drop in centre for young people based in Caerphilly County Borough has been shortlisted for a national award.
The Basement in Blackwood, which provides information, support and advocacy services to young people aged 11-25, has been short listed in the Advice and Guidance Award category of the Children and Young People Now Awards 2013.
The awards are recognised as the gold standard for everyone working with children, young people and families, and celebrate the work with children and young people carried out by a wide variety of projects and agencies across the UK.
The Basement, which is run by Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Youth Service, has been recognised for the work the project is doing to reach youngsters and provide them with relevant information.
The awards ceremony, which will be attended by The Basement team, will take place on Wednesday 27 November at The Hurlington Club in Fulham.
