Views wanted on new Caerphilly town library opening hours

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 12:58, Monday October 28th, 2013.

The new library in Caerphilly town, due to open in the new year, is set to have increased opening hours.

Instead of being open 46.5 hours a week, as is the case now, the new library could be open 50 hours a week.

Caerphilly County Borough Council wants to hear the views of library users on the new opening hours.

The proposed opening hours would see the library, situated at the Twyn, open from 9.30am to 6pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Wednesdays, it will be open from 9.30am until 7pm. On Saturday the library will be open 9.30am until 4pm.

The new library, which opens on January 6, will be five times larger than the present library in Morgan Jones Park.

The new building will also be home to a council service centre, including cash office, and a museum area.

To have a say on the proposed opening times, please call 01443 864 033 or email evansg1@caerphilly.gov.uk. The deadline for the consultation is Friday November 15.
