Caerphilly Business Forum Blog

Broomfield & Alexander has been sponsoring the prestigious Premier Award at the forthcoming Caerphilly Business Forum Awards for eleven years and is delighted to be involved again in 2013.

The Premier Award Winner is chosen from the winners of all categories. Therefore a prerequisite is that you must have already demonstrated your ability to excel and go that extra mile. This is a winner of winners after all!

Over the years we have never ceased to be impressed by the calibre of winners we have to choose from and the diverse nature of the businesses. The way that Caerphilly continues to harness and support its growing businesses and encourage ambition is integral to this.

So in choosing a Premier Award winner what do we look for?

Let’s take a look at some of the previous winners; they all stand out as beacons of inspiration.

Some have been inspired to come from abroad and invest in Wales:

SEDA UK Limited who came to Wales in 2004 and is a world leader in packaging for the ice-cream and food industry continues to grow and flourish.

The people in the business coming together as a team:

Working with each other to help support and provide a customer experience which cannot be rivalled is epitomised by Peter’s Food Services Limited. From first contact with security at the gate right through to the board of Directors; all are passionate about the business and proud to be a Peter’s employee.

Being innovative and committed to a strategy of continual development:

Direct Healthcare Services Limited a winner in 2010 continues to design and develop award winning innovative solutions for pressure care.

Showing exceptional commitment to overcoming obstacles that may seem insurmountable:

Against a very difficult economic background and after only 18 months Utility Training Services Limited was Premier Award winners in 2009. In growing its business by expanding its range of niche training courses, the company is now the largest independent utility training provider.

Looking back at previous winners it is clear that the 2013 winner has to demonstrate some outstanding abilities to maintain this high standard – but as the past has shown if anybody can do it the people of Caerphilly can!
