Businesses in Caerphilly County Borough have celebrated their success at this year’s Caerphilly Business Forum Awards.
Chemical firm ISCA UK, based in Cwmfelinfach, took the top honour at the 12th annual awards, held in association with Coleg Gwent, with the overall Premier Award.

The company, established in 1998, also won Business of the Year with 25 employees or fewer. Its clients include Akzo Nobel, Rolls-Royce, Lufthansa, L’Oreal and Sainsbury’s.

The two awards were sponsored by Broomfield and Alexander and Caerphilly County Borough Council respectively.

Commenting on the achievement, Denise Roberts, Tax Director at Broomfield and Alexander said: “The winner of the Premier Award was not an easy decision to make this year as the quality of the winners has been so high.

“However ISCA UK stood out as being a company that has shown innovation, not only through its products and services, but also through its ability to successfully export across the world.”

Cllr Ken James, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: “Scooping two major awards is testament to the firm’s success going from strength to strength over the last few years. I’d also like to congratulate all the other winners, as the quality of entries this year is a clear reflection of our thriving local business community.

“I’d also like to recognise the valuable work undertaken by the Caerphilly Business Forum who organise this fantastic event.”

The various winners are pictured below in our gallery. Other companies shortlisted for the awards, which took place on November 22 at Llancaiach Fawr, near Nelson, were Wize Consulting, Caerphilly Observer, Welsh ICE, Clothing Recycling Centres, CPS Wales, Blackwood Embedded Solutions, Penrihw Nursery, Peter’s Foods, The Rock, Blackwood, Smart Money Cymru Credit Union and The Furniture Revival.

Tony Sheehan, Chairman of the Caerphilly Business Forum, said: “The range and calibre of the companies within Caerphilly County Borough continues to delight and surprise me every year.

“Not only are these companies continually innovating and taking advantage of opportunities within a number of changing local and global markets, but they are adding real value and employment to the local communities.
“We also want to say thank you to all the sponsors for their time and support and well done to those shortlisted.”
