Twenty-one year old Leon Guest has joined the Marketing and Events team at Caerphilly Business Forum under its Young Recruits apprenticeship programme.

Leon, who is from Bargoed, will take over from former apprentice, Sonam Patel, and assist in co-ordinating the forum’s events programme.

He said: “This is a challenging and exciting role and I am delighted to be able to gain this valuable training opportunity with the forum. I am also looking forward to making the most of my interest in creative design during my apprenticeship.”

Sonam, who shared her time between Caerphilly Business Forum and Caerphilly Council’s marketing and event Team during her apprenticeship, leaves to take on a new role as part of the National Assembly’s Events Team in Wales.

Tony Sheehan, Chair of Caerphilly Business Forum, said: “We welcome Leon to the team and look forward to his involvement as we continue to grow both the Forum’s membership and events programme which culminates in the Caerphilly Business Forum Awards in November.”

He added: “We also want to thank Sonam for her dedication and commitment over the past 13 months and wish her every success in her new role.”
