CUSHION: Ynysddu Welfare celebrate their second goal against Cwmffrwdoer

Underdogs Ynysddu Welfare beat Cwmffrwdoer Sports 2-0 to march into the Gwent Amateur Cup final.

Cwmffrwdoer went into the game on April 10 as Gwent County Division Two leaders, having scored 120 goals this season, but goals from Jack Pewtner and Ben Murphy sent the Welfare to the final.

The defensive display was fantastic with Man of the Match Adam Thomas having the game of his life in front of the back three.

Saturday Aprill 12 saw a return to the league for Ynysddu and a 7-2 demolition of Mardy in the Gwent County Division Two.

Ynysddu were four up after 20 minutes with goals from Ben Murphy, Jack Pewtner, Gareth Knott and Steffan James-White.
Pewtner and Murphy doubled their goal count in the second half and Greg Botchett grabbed one of his own leaving Ynysddu sixth in the table.
