Caerphilly-based insurance firm Thomas Carroll Group has completed a £500,000 extension to its headquarters.

Officially opened by First Minister Carwyn Jones last week, the Pendragon House development on Crescent Road, features an additional floor incorporating executive offices, training rooms and boardroom with views over Caerphilly Castle.

The latest extension, the fourth since Thomas Carroll acquired the headquarters in 1998, follows regional expansion for the group which was founded in 1972 and today employs 125 people.

The group’s latest development follows the opening of new regional offices in Haverfordwest and Hereford and the purchase of a new regional headquarters in Swansea.

The First Minister said: “I’m delighted to be able to officially open Thomas Carroll’s newly expanded headquarters, marking an exciting new chapter for this ambitious Welsh company.

“As we continue to generate growth, wealth and jobs in Wales we need exemplar companies like Thomas Carroll which build our international reputation as financial and professional services hub. I’m pleased that the Welsh Government has been able to support the company as they go from strength to strength and I congratulate them on another fantastic milestone.”

John Moore, Chairman of Thomas Carroll Group plc said: “We are enjoying significant business growth across our regions, by attracting leading executives with proven expertise and strong client relationships. Our graduate programme thrives on developing Welsh talent.

“We have doubled in employee levels over the past eight years and proud to be flourishing and contributing to the economy as a fearlessly independent Welsh company. We are honoured to be joined by the First Minister as we celebrate an unforgettable journey and an exciting milestone in our group’s history.”
