The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh visited Ystrad Mynach on April 30 as part of their two-day tour of Wales.
The Royal couple formally opened two new printing presses, costing £8m, at wrapping paper company International Greetings UK Limited, based on Penallta Industrial Estate.
Crowds of residents and schoolchildren gathered to catch a glimpse of Her Majesty – many with Welsh and Union flags.
Jill Paget, 77, of Pen Y Bryn, was with her daughter, granddaughters and great-granddaughters.
She said: “This is a nice opportunity for us all.
“It is not often we get this. We are really proud to be out here today.”
Louise Gilbert, 25, of Gilfach, was waiting with her son and cousins.
She said: “It’s a once in a lifetime thing really. I want my son to see her in person.
“He can see her on a £20 note and a pound coin but he might never get to see her in person – I think this is very important.”
The visit marked International Greetings UK Limited’s 35th anniversary.
