Coleg Gwent students win gold for Wales in national championships

Annie Bevan, Megan Daley, and Brook Jenkins, all 17, were part of the Welsh Women’s Rugby Sevens team who won gold at the championships.

Three Coleg Gwent students were part of the Welsh Colleges Womens’ Sevens Rugby team that won gold at the British Colleges Sport National championships.

Brook Jenkins, Megan Daley and Annie Bevan were part of a group of 30 sport students from Coleg Gwent’s Crosskeys campus who competed against students from across the UK over three days at Bath University.

A number of Coleg Gwent students won medals in swimming, trampolining and squash at the competition.

Mererid Dark, Sport Lecturer at Crosskeys campus, said: “We were delighted with the achievements of all the students at the National Championships, especially those who won medals.”
