Aber Valley Wolves Under 15s won the inaugural Wales Rugby League Junior Nines competition at Senghenydd RFC last weekend.

The tournament marked the start of the South Wales Conference Junior season and nine teams competed from across South Wales and Bristol in under 14 and 15 competitions.

The teams played each other in a round robin competition and the top two went up against each other in the final, with the Aber Valley Wolves beating Bristol Thunder Under 15s 12-8 in the final.

The under 14 competition was dominated by Cardiff Spartans and their two teams met in the final where the Warriors beat the Trojans 20-8.

Wales Rugby League will continue to use nines tournaments to develop young talent throughout the summer season.
