A prisoner with links to Caerphilly who absconded from HMP Leyhill in South Gloucestershire is still on the run, police have said.

Daniel Wynne, 28, failed to appear for roll call at 4.45pm on Saturday October 25 at the open prison alongside convicted murderer Daniel Shankly

Wynne is described as a white man, 5ft 7in tall of stocky build. He has a shaved head and speaks with a Welsh accent. He has a tattoo on his left arm with the name “Danny.” He was given a two-year sentence for assault with an indeterminate release date.

Shankly was caught by West Mercia police in Bromsgrove in the early hours of Saturday November 29 and returned to prison.

Avon and Somerset Police have said an appeal to find Wynne will be featured in BBC Crimewatch on Thursday December 4.

Anyone with any information about the whereabouts of Daniel Wynne can call 101 quoting reference 111119/14 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
