A fitness instructor who trains the elderly has been praised by the Older People’s Commissioner for Wales.
Gareth Jones runs 14 exercise classes across Caerphilly County Borough and instructs around 150 people a week, aged between 55 and 90.
The commissioner’s team joined Mr Jones for a class at the White Rose community centre, New Tredegar, where over 20 fitness fanatics stretched and completed chair-based exercises and movements to music.
The commissioner, Sarah Rochira, said: “The groups run by Mr Jones are playing a significant role in helping older people from the Rhymney Valley area to age well.”
