An illegal tattooist has been fined £1,050 by magistrates.
Stephen Stevens, of Duke Street, Abertillery, appeared at Caerphilly Magistrates’ Court on Friday November 28 and admitted eight offences relating to illegal tattooing and piercing.
The court heard how 24-year-old Stevens had been carrying out tattooing and piercing services at an address in Risca in January and February of this year, despite not holding or applying for registration under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982.
The council prosecuted after members of the public reported Stevens was advertising his services on social media websites.
