Search continues for Caerphilly County Borough’s £1.8m lottery prize winner

News | | Published: 14:12, Tuesday December 16th, 2014.

The search is continuing to find the winner of a £1.8 million lottery winner from Caerphilly County Borough.

The winner, who bought the ticket in the county borough, managed to match all six numbers for the Saturday November 22 draw and stands to claim a total of £1,896,064

The winning Lotto numbers on that date were 2, 3, 5, 15, 22, 29 and the bonus ball was 26. The lucky ticket-holder has until May 21, 2015, to claim their prize.

If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to good causes.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We’re eager to find the mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings – this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life. We’re urging everyone who bought a Lotto ticket in this area to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding.

“Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa – someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune! We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”

To help jog Lotto players’ memories about what was happening on or around the time of the Lotto draw in question, nearby football club, Cardiff City, were in action on Friday 21 November in the Championship. The Bluebirds welcomed Reading to the Cardiff City Stadium and recorded a hard-fought 2-1 win.

Away from sport, players may have taken a trip to the Motorpoint Arena where Russell Howard was performing his Wonderbox comedy show.
