Funding available for Armed Forces community projects

News | | Published: 15:00, Monday December 29th, 2014.

Projects that bring the local community and Armed Forces communities together in Caerphilly County Borough are being encouraged to apply for a funding grant.

The Armed Forces Community Covenant Grant, funded by the Ministry of Defence and administered locally by the Caerphilly Armed Forces Forum, makes financial assistance available to projects that strengthen the ties or the mutual understanding between members of the Armed Forces community and the wider community in which they live.

The Caerphilly Armed Forces Forum is encouraging community groups to submit bids for financial assistance for consideration by the February 2015 panel.

The submission deadline is January 16 2015. The Forum will consider all bids, with those endorsed being submitted to the Ministry of Defence Community Covenant Grant Scheme regional panel for consideration.

The grant initiative aims to support and assist projects that support the principles of the Caerphilly Armed Forces Community Covenant.

The Armed Forces Community Covenant is a voluntary pledge to encourage charities, local authorities, businesses and communities and individuals to work together with the military to offer support to service personnel and their families, as well as reservists and veterans.

For further details about the Armed Forces Community Covenant Grant, call 01443 864 754 or email reesh4@caerphilly.gov.uk. An application form and terms and conditions can also be found at www.caerphilly.gov.uk.
