A Penpedairheol teenager’s first full senior rally season will begin tomorrow, April 18.

Aaron Jones, 18, will be competing in the British Trial Drivers Association Forest Rally Championship this year as well as junior and senior Welsh rally and tarmac competitions.

Jones won three titles last season in his Class One Nissan Micra with co-driver Ryan Jones.

He has a new co-driver for the season, that begins with the Somerset Stages, in the form of 17-year-old Owen Evans from Swansea.

Jones said: “After a few quick testing sessions in the car we have been able to get a good feel and used to the new surface.

“We are really hoping just to get used to the car for this event but we hope to be able to get a podium spot in our class for the day and get a good haul of championship points to carry on into the year.”
