A leading pressure care manufacturer has significantly strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of a new Sales Director.
Stuart McAllister, 36, joins Direct Healthcare Services’ senior team, and will work alongside Managing Director, Graham Ewart, 38, and Operations Director, Gerry Boyle, 43, to drive forward the company’s ambitious global export proposition.
The firm, based on the Western Industrial Estate near Caerphilly town, manufactures pressure care products including specialist mattresses and cushions for the NHS, and currently exports to Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America.
Turnover has grown significantly to over £10 million over the past three years with the number of employees going from 20 to almost 80 as the business has won more new customers, both in the UK and overseas.
Direct Healthcare Services has recently expanded its manufacturing facility by 40% to 45,000ft2, and invested in new state-of-the-art CNC machinery, in order to meet growing demand for its products.
Managing Director, Graham Ewart, said: “We are very fortunate to have a sales director of Stuart’s calibre on board. He is a proven business leader who will bring more focus, ambition and further international experience to our sales efforts.
“Following the appointment of Gerry Boyle, who joined our team in 2014 to manage Operations, we now have an experienced and ambitious management team who I am confident can take the business to the next level.”
Mr McAllister added: “I am delighted to join Direct Healthcare Services at such an exciting time. The highly-skilled team in Caerphilly have been the driving force behind the success of the business to date, and I’m looking forward to being part of that team.”
Good on em. I keep hearing of small manufacturing businesses starting up and doing well. A couple of years ago it was all doom and gloom as they all did a bunk to Eastern Europe or China. Things seem to be picking up again especially on Western ind est with PHS and New Air.
