£10,000 worth of damage caused by theft of £20 worth of copper at Trethomas Tesco

News | | Published: 10:43, Thursday August 27th, 2015.

Thieves caused £10,000 worth of damage for just £20 worth of copper, which was stolen from Tesco Express in Trethomas overnight.

Copper piping was stolen from a generator outside the store but damage to the generator meant the freezers and chillers turned off.

Staff at the shop are still sorting through the food and the manager said there is roughly £5,000 worth of food they can’t sell.

The theft happened between 11.30pm last night, August 26 and 6am this morning August 27.

Gwent Police are investigating and house to house enquiries are ongoing in the area.

Anyone with information relating to the incident can call 101 quoting log 49 27/08/15.

Perhaps it was done to help a failed local politician who is a plumber, looking for work?

Is this the second time this has happened to this Tesco store, probably the same low life druggies who did it before, the same low life druggies who burgled St Davids Charity Shop and the same low life druggies who are responsible for the majority of metal thefts in Caerphilly, the police know who they are but do nothing about them.
