The finalists of this year’s Caerphilly Business Forum Awards have been announced.

Once again, organisers have said a record number of industry sectors are represented.

The awards are made up of eight categories.

Dean Jenkins of Codez Academy, Morgan Price from The HealthCloud, and Cariann Jones from Wize have been named finalists in the new Entrepreneur of the Year category.

Meanwhile, Ultimate Arcade Cabinets, A Schulman Ltd and Seda Group are among those joining the final line up of the Manufacturing in Action award, while Happus, Bomper Studio and Service Tracker Ltd have been named the finalists in the Innovation Award category.

Techni3 Ltd, Kinetic Pixel and Life’s Chocolate have also been shortlisted for the Business of the Year with 25 employees or fewer, while CPS Group, Budget Vets and Ayjay Group will be competing for the Business of the Year Award with more than 25 employees.

Liz Morgan of Ultimate Arcade Cabinets, Katherine Hughes from the Caerphilly Miners’ Club and Marsha Ward from The Number Hub are all in the running for the Women in Business Award, while G.C Enterprises Wales Ltd and Cotyledon Ltd have also been shortlisted for the Contribution to the Rural Economy Award alongside Glyn Davies Auctioneers.

Finally, the Apprentice of the Year Award shortlist includes Christian Ebeling from The Celt Experience, Elliott Keep from Caerphilly County Borough Council and Amanda Jones from JNP Legal.

Taking place on November 20 at Bryn Meadows, in Maesycwmmer, and hosted by BBC Wales Today’s Jamie Owen, the awards will shine a light on businesses of all sizes and sectors based in Caerphilly County Borough.

The evening is open to anyone to attend, offering guests wider opportunities to network and collaborate too.

Denise Lovering, Chairwoman of Caerphilly Business Forum, said the forum was delighted with the quality of nominations.

She said: “Over the last 14 years, the Caerphilly Business Awards have become one of Wales’ most respected business award programmes and we’re delighted to see businesses from all sectors and high-quality enterprises coming forward to showcase their work.

“The forum would like to extend its warmest congratulations not only to those companies shortlisted to win an award this year, but to all those who entered – as ever the standard of nominees was incredibly high, there is so much good work to be proud of going on in Caerphilly County today.”

A Premier Award will also be given to the business deemed the ‘overall winner’ in partnership with leading accountancy firm Broomfield and Alexander.

The awards are held in association with Coleg Gwent, with the support of sponsors; Norgine, Horizon, Nuaire and NatWest Bank. Category sponsors include Glenside Commercials, Caerffili Cwm a Mynydd, Clearsky Recruitment, Coleg y Cymoedd, Excellence IT, Blackwood Embedded Solutions, Caerphilly County Borough Council, Acorn Recruitment, and Business in Focus.
