Lorry set ablaze on Caerphilly’s Western Industrial Estate during busy Bonfire Night

News | | Published: 10:20, Friday November 6th, 2015.

A 40ft lorry and trailer containing a large amount of rubbish were set alight on Western Industrial Estate last night, November 5.

The arson, on Withey Court, took Caerphilly firefighters away from accidental blazes for over an hour and a half on one of the busiest nights of the year.

Firefighters were called to the scene at around 9.50pm on Bonfire Night and Gwent Police were informed.

Meanwhile, a Rhymney fire crew were called to Tan-y-Bryn maliciously by a hoax caller.

Update Tan y Bryn: This call proved to be a malicious hoax call tying up Rhymney crew for 22 minutes #hoaxcallscostlives
