News | | Published: 08:57, Thursday November 12th, 2015.

Thousands of pounds worth of drugs were seized at three addresses in Abertridwr and Trethomas as part of a series of raids by police.

Officers executed the three warrants on Monday, November 9.

The first warrant was executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a property on Llanfabon Drive, Trethomas.

A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged for position with intent to supply a Class B drug. Drugs, with an approximate street value of £4,000, growing equipment and cash were seized from the property. The man was bailed pending further enquiries.

A second warrant was executed at a property in Sunnybank in Abertridwr. There was no one present at the address at the time but drugs, with the approximate street value of £12,000, were seized from the property. No arrests were made during the warrant but the occupier is due to be interviewed by police.

A third warrant was executed at a property in Hillside Avenue, Abertridwr. There was no one at the address at the time but drugs were again seized. Enquiries are now ongoing to trace the occupier.

Bedwas and Caerphilly Inspector Gareth Jones said: “We hope this gives out a message to the community that we are committed to tackling drug issues in the area. We will continue to execute drugs warrants across Caerphilly.”
