The funerals of two best friends killed in a car crash will be held just days apart from one another.
Connor Williams, 17, and Conor Tiley, 18, died at the scene of the crash on New Road, Tir-y-Berth on January 3.
The funeral of Connor Williams, who was known as Eggy, of Aberbargoed, will take place at St Peter’s Church, Aberbargoed, on Friday, January 22, at 12.30pm, followed by interment at Brithdir Cemetery at 2pm.
Floral tributes are welcome or donations for Leukaemia Research may be given at the service.
The funeral of Conor Tiley, also of Aberbargoed, will take place at St Sannan’s Church, Bedwellty, on Monday, January 25, at 11.30am followed by burial at Bedwellty Cemetery at 1pm.
Family flowers only but donations for the intensive care unit at the University Hospital of Wales, Heath, Cardiff, may be given at the service.
Also injured in the accident was friend 18-year-old Cameron Nicholas. Mr Nicholas was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff with serious injuries and is said by Gwent Police to still be in a critical condition.
The three boys were travelling in a Ford Fiesta when it was in a collision with a silver Vauxhall Astra at around 7.25pm on Sunday, January 3.
The female driver of the Astra was taken to the Prince Charles Hospital, in Merthyr Tydfil, and has since been released.
Online fundraising for the families of Mr Tiley, Mr Williams and Mr Nicholas has now reached almost £5,500 at time of press.
The fund was started by friend Daniel Pendry, who wrote: “We’d just like to help all families involved financially at this awful time to help with time off work, funeral fees and just to support them.”
