Bedwas-based printer lauded for ethical business style

News | | Published: 10:00, Thursday March 24th, 2016.

A company based in Bedwas has been praised for its ethical approach to business.

Purple Mustard, a printer which provides product branding services, successfully underwent a voluntary Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA).

The audit looked at the company’s labour policies, health and safety performance, environmental performance and business ethics.

Richard Millward, Commercial Director at Purple Mustard, said: “The feedback that we received highlights our achievements in relation to the implementation of a number of key processes and procedures; ultimately creating the positive, safe and legally compliant work environment currently enjoyed by our team.

Purple Mustard employs around 35 staff at its 40,000 sq ft site on Pantglas Industrial Estate.

Ethical usually means sacrificing profit. It is not something I endorse. The huge multinational conglomerates, mostly based in the USA, are not created by ethical decisions. they are created by business decision. Britain’s economy would be a lot better if Britain’s businesses were intent on efficient, M-form management structure, and buyouts of rivals.
