A cut electric cable was found at Cwmcarn High School where an asbestos removal worker died, a pre-inquest hearing has been told.
Investigators found a Stanley knife near where James Paul, 26, from Abertillery, was working in the ceiling space of the school on July 19, 2013.
Mr Paul may have been electrocuted, a previous hearing at Newport Coroner’s Court heard.
A week-long jury inquest will be held Monday June 27.
