The Welsh Government has announced a set of standards which aim to improve the quality of bus services around Wales.
The Voluntary Welsh Bus Quality Standard is a group of core services which must be achieved by bus operators by March 2017 to ensure that they receive the Welsh Government’s Bus Services Support Grant.
Those standards include meeting young persons’ discounted fares, displaying route information and passenger complaints policies inside the bus, and maintaining cleanliness.
Transport Minister Edwina Hart said: “Bus services provide vital access to employment and services for many people across Wales. The Welsh Government is committed to improving the experience for passengers and encouraging more people to use bus services.”

Pensioners left stranded, and residents unable to use public transport, including the good Train Services through Hengoed and Ystrad Mynach Stations, Why? because there is no meaningful and organised public bus service through these communities. And the Caerphilly Council ward Councillors representing this area, The Welsh Nationalist, have done to ensure this disgraceful situation is highlighted and dealt with. This situation isolates these three Communities.
