Workshop for dementia awareness to be held in Bedwas

News | | Published: 14:01, Monday May 9th, 2016.

A series of workshops aimed at carers of people with dementia will be held on May 16 to mark Dementia Awareness Week.

Caerphilly Funeral Services is holding the workshops together with community interest company iTask, also based in Caerphilly.

The three workshops will take place on Monday, May 16, at St Barrwg’s Church, Church Street, in Bedwas, at 10am, 2pm, and 6pm.

The workshops will include a question and answer session covering a checklist for carers of people with dementia. Advice on what services can be accessed by dementia sufferers will also be available.

Refreshments are available to all those who attend.

Dean Thomas, of Caerphilly Funeral Services, said: “We know that dementia is one of the biggest issues we are facing as a community with more people suffering from it.

“We wanted to put on a community event to help people who care for someone affected by dementia and would urge people to attend.”
