Residents are reminded to keep a close eye on their property and report any suspicious activity immediately following a spate of burglaries.

As the better weather approaches, officers are urging residents not to become complacent by leaving any windows and doors open.

Reported crimes include:

· Burglary on Vanfield Close, sometime between Friday May 13 and Saturday May 14, where the offender forced open a metal garage door and stole DVDs and shoes from within.

· Burglary on Bedwas Road sometime between the Monday May 9 and Wednesday May 11, where the offender forced entry into a garage by damaging the electronic door and took power tools.

· An attempted burglary on Ludlow Street, sometime between Sunday May 8 and Tuesday May 10, where the offender gained entry to a secured garage by forcing the doors open.

· Burglary on Bedwas Road sometime between Sunday May 8 and Monday May 9, where the offender forced open a metal garage door and stole a bike from within.

Officers are currently investigating each reported crime and are asking residents to ensure their homes are left secure.

Report any suspicious activity immediately by calling Gwent Police on 101 or if a crime is taking place, call 999.
