Caerphilly-born author Thomas Morris has been presented with a British literary prize for his short story We Don’t Know What We’re Doing.
Morris, 30, won the Somerset Maugham Award along with four other writers on Tuesday June 21.
The £2,500 award is given to under-35 British writers for any category of publication.
The stories in We Don’t Know What We’re Doing focus on characters from Caerphilly dealing with coming of age, mundane jobs and depression.
This year’s award was judged by Philip Hensher, Joanna Kavenna and Adam O’Riordan.
