How exactly can anybody steal cash from a self service till? They accept money / bank cards and then dispense change as required, if the till made an error and gave out too much change then it’s not her fault – blame the machine, the dreadful tills should all be scrapped they are mostly useless unless an operator is standing next to them to put right all the things it can’t understand.

I agree with every point you make – self service tills are entirely designed to cut jobs. I avoid them and go out of my way to be served by a human, I often get to exchange a few pleasantries and have the satisfaction of knowing that the person who provides me with a service is being paid a wage. The wretched self service till is just an irritating machine that deprives a person of a job and only profits the directors of the company.

Yes you’re right, and don’t get me started on Nat West Bank in Caerphilly, I moved my account due to their utterly ridiculous self service machines so I never have to set foot in the place ever again.

I don’t blame you, I have done the same and bank at Nationwide building Society where the staff are very pleasant and efficient.
