Police search for two masked men after incident in Ystrad Mynach

Police are appealing for information after two men wearing balaclavas entered a house in Ystrad Mynach uninvited.

The incident occurred at around 9.45am on Thursday, August 25.

Officers are trying to identify the men, who entered the house on Station Road, Ystrad Mynach through the back door while the residents were home.

One of the men pushed over one of the occupants, while the other searched one of the bedrooms upstairs. Both men left on foot through the back door, jumping over the garden wall. The residents were unharmed, and nothing was stolen.

The first man is described as white, around five foot six inches tall, of average build. He was wearing a black cotton balaclava, a light grey top and light grey trousers.

The second man is described as white, around five foot seven inches tall, and of average build. He was also wearing a black cotton balaclava, a light grey top and light grey three-quarter trousers.

Gwent Police refused to comment when asked if the address was specifically targeted. A spokeswoman also refused to disclose the ages of the victims due to possible identification.
