Caerphilly’s Pontygwindy Road back open after emergency repairs

Pontygwindy Road in Caerphilly town has been fully opened after it was closed for emergency repair work.

Caerphilly County Borough Council had closed the road, between the Pwllypant (Cedar Tree) roundabout and the access road to the Catnic site, on Wednesday, August 31, in an emergency move to repair a culvert underneath its surface.

The council originally estimated the road would be closed for between three and four weeks, but work has now been completed in little more than four days.

A council spokesman said: “Repair works have been completed ahead of schedule and Pontywindy Road is now fully reopen to traffic.”

Mr Ian Gorman either you have a crystal ball or you know exactly how Caerphilly Council operate – you called it spot on sir, they stated a four week closure and then appear to work miracles by opening the road in a week, now we all have to bow down in thanks and appreciation and marvel at the wonderment of the council’s speedy and efficient emergency road repair.

Paul, just a little experience with how local government works. They have to make their numbers look good somehow. Just wish I was as good calling the lotto numbers.
