Police appeal after “high value” bikes are stolen from Oakdale and Bedwas

Gwent Police is appealing for information after four bikes of high value were stolen from Oakdale and Bedwas in two separate incidents.

Three bikes were stolen from a shed in Pen y Groes, Oakdale, sometime between 4.30pm on Wednesday August 10, and 4.25pm on Thursday August 11.

Details of the bikes stolen include:

– A Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp Evo 29er, coloured black and green, with a green brand name and a green stripe on it. The wheels are standard, but it has Sixpack handlebars and lime green Superstar Nano pedals. The bike is valued at around £2,500.

– An On One 45650b mountain bike featuring a black frame with orange markings on the down tube, Mavic wheels with yellow decals which are stickers on the rims, and metallic orange Moove pedals. The bike is valued at around £1,000.

– A Giant Defy 0 road bike, coloured black with green and white markings, and has white Superstar wheels. It is worth around £1,000.

Anyone with any information about this incident, can call Gwent Police on 101 quoting log number: 351 11/08/16.

In a separate incident, a bike was also stolen from a garage on St Mary’s Street, Bedwas, sometime between 8pm on Tuesday August 30 and 10.30am on Wednesday August 31.

The bike is a silver Turner Flux, and worth around £4,000.

Anyone with any information can call Gwent Police on 101 quoting log number 152 31/08/16.
